The Inland20 Championship Sept. 12,13,14 at the prestigious Chautauqua Lake Yacht Club in Lakeview, NY will feature fine dining at the club’s restaurant as well as outreach to foster an I20 fleet on the lake.

“If there is one thing that separates I20 sailors from other scow classes it has to be our tradition of friendly people who are eager to introduce our boat to new regions,” said Stew Harris, co-chair of the 2025 Championship and NISSA vice commodore.

This won’t be the first time the I20 has campaigned on Chautauqua. NISSA and CLYC organized a demonstration regatta in 2023 to introduce the boat on the lake.

Now, in 2025, CLYC is opening its club to the I20 class for its most important event: the I20 Championship in September. The facility features two boat lifts, fine dining and a pool. The club has an active junior program and a longstanding E-scow fleet. The regatta committee includes local E-scow sailors Rick and Brad Turner and Eric Hall. Chautauqua’s own Gary Snyder will be Presiding Race Officer.

“We are extremely grateful to Rick and Brad Turner for their sincere interest in the I20,” Harris continued. “They understand that the I20 with its asymmetric spinnaker and amazing price point can bring sailors into the scow fold. Certainly Wawasee Yacht Club’s E-scow fleet has benefitted from a strong I20 presence there.”

Registration for the Championship is not yet open, but an NOR has been drafted and can be downloaded here.
